Milbemax Tab is a veterinary medicine. It is a broad-spectrum dewormer. These tablets are suitable for small dogs and puppies, weighing from 0.5 to 10 kg. Dogs can be infested by internal parasites. Two main types of worm colonize the animal's intestines: cestodes and nematodes. The former are flatworms, the latter roundworms. These worms can be harmful to the dog, causing digestive and pulmonary problems, impaired growth, a "holey" coat... Eliminating them is essential for the health and well-being of your dog or puppy. Milbemax Tab deworming medicine is formulated with two active ingredients: praziquantel and milbemycin oxime. These are anti-parasitic substances that combat worms. It is effective against the cestodes Dipylidium caninum, Echinococcus spp, Taenia spp and Mesocestoides spp, as well as the nematodes Ancylostoma caninum, Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis and Crenosoma vulpis (reducing infestation). It also reduces the infestation of Angiostrongylus vasorum and acts against Thelazia callipaeda. It can also be used as part of a program to prevent heartworm disease (Dirofilaria immitis).
The recommended minimum dose is 5 mg praziquantel and 0.5 mg milbemycin oxime, per kg animal body weight. The drug is administered orally, in a single dose, during or after a meal.
From 500 g to 1 kg, the dosage is 1/2 tablet. From 1 kg to 5 kg, the dosage is 1 tablet. For dogs weighing between 5 and 10 kg, the dosage is 2 tablets.

In the case of Angiostrongylus vasorum infestation, milbemycin oxime should be administered 4 times, one week apart. If cestodes are being treated at the same time, treat once with this drug and then continue with a monovalent product containing milbemycin oxime alone, for the remaining treatment period (3 weeks). Angiostrongylosis will be prevented in endemic regions, in the case of treatment against cestodes, by monthly administration.
Against Thelazia callipaeda, milbemycin oxime will be administered in 2 doses, one week apart. Milbemax tab can take the place of a monovalent milbemycin oxime product in case of concomitant treatment against cestodes.

For best results, we recommend treating all the animals in the household at the same time. In some cases, treatment against fleas and lice should be considered, after consultation with a veterinarian.

This drug should not be administered to dogs with circulating microfilariae. Dosage must be strictly adhered to for Colley and related breeds.

In the event of Ecchinococcosis, specific protocols must be followed. A parasitology center or expert should be consulted. In regions at risk of dilofilariasis, or if the dog has previously been in such regions, the use of this medication should depend on a veterinary consultation.

Finally, Milbemax Tab can also be administered to breeding dogs, including pregnant and lactating bitches.
